Rad Duct / Aluminum Panels / HSRF

I spent the first part of the day sanding and applying HSRF to the rear half of the body.

I decided not to try to contour a recess for the lower radiator hose. This would have had the hose visible inside the opening. Since I designed a shroud for the fans, this allows me to cut a squared recess and create an aluminum piece to install in this opening.

The back of the duct. There are holes in the bottom to allow water to drain since the duct top is open to the weather. You can see the “squared” recess in the red circle.

With the side panels installed. These are going to be replaced with some modified ones. The driver side will also be changed to allow for the squared recess.

With the fan shroud installed. The shroud will have rivnuts installed to mount the fans.

The Griffin radiator (1-56241-H) sits in front of the rear ducting.

You can see the reason why the duct needs to have a recess.

The red lines show the design of the cover for the recess.

I also worked on bending the aluminum for the hatch storage compartment. I made a mistake in the CAD drawing for the compartment and will have to get a new one cut. I used this piece to confirm the correct angles and correct fitment into the frame.

I then bent and installed the final two pieces of the front radiator duct.

Since I had some other .040 aluminum to cut, I spent the rest of the night working on measurements of those pieces.
